Lagniappe

Lagniappe is a word of creole origin which means an indirect benefit or an unexpected gift, freely given. As human beings we are finite; as matter we are infinite. Our bodies are fragile and our experience of everything is temporal in a universe that is seemingly ageless. Every moment is part of an amorphous whole and everythingaround us is in constant flux. Exploring this is both vital and normal in our understanding of what it is to be human. the images in this project have been created as a personal and emotional response to this. My intent is that each individual image forms part of a larger whole and together form a visual language through which this is expressed.
